Teeth-In-A-Day Q&A

What is Teeth In A Day?

The Teeth In A Day procedure is used to replace the entire upper or lower set of teeth. The procedure creates a permanent prosthesis by typically using 4 to 6 dental implants which act as an anchor for a bridge or overdenture These implants replace damaged and missing teeth and provide a long-term, permanent, natural-looking alternative to dentures.

What are the benefits of Teeth In A Day?

Below are some of the many benefits to full arch dental implants when compared to traditional dentures.

  • Comfort. Full arch dental implants are more comfortable than traditional dentures that can pinch the gums and get food particles stuck underneath.
  • Support. Full arch dental implants offer better support than dentures. They stay in place and won’t slip while you are eating, talking, laughing, etc.
  • Bone Health. Full arch dental implants fortify the jaw bone and prevent bone loss. Traditional dentures allow the jaw bone to weaken and eventually dissolve.
  • Appearance. Full arch dental implants look and feel like they are your natural teeth. Bone loss in the jaw from traditional dentures may create a sunken look.
  • Longevity. Full arch dental implants can last forever once they fuse with the bone. Dentures may eventually wear out and need to be replaced.

Do my Teeth In A Day require special care?

Dr. Sweidan or Dr. Smith will provide you with specific instructions for the proper  aftercare. Your new dental implants will require the same type of care as natural teeth. They are still susceptible to bacterial plaque that can cause peri-implantitis.  To protect yourself, you will need to exercise proper oral hygiene, which includes brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing once a day.

As you continue routine checkups at Gulf Coast Periodontics & Implants, our team will monitor your oral health and provide you with excellent care.
